DIY Natural Glass Cleaner

This glass cleaner was one of the first products I created when I began my journey of leading a more natural life at home. There's a sort of magic in mixing together everyday ingredients and turning them into something useful- especially if they can help clean house.

Knowing exactly what’s in the bottle and where the ingredients come from grants me peace of mind, and I hope it will for you as well!

Too often we bring chemicals into our homes without paying much attention to what’s inside. The majority of household cleaners contain harsh ingredients that are incredibly unnecessary when you take into consideration that ingredients such as baking soda, alcohol, and vinegar have long been proven to clean and disinfect surfaces.

There are many non-toxic and all natural recipes for glass cleaner, but this has been my go-to for the past several years. It may have something to do with the fact that there’s usually always vodka in my freezer when I run out of cleaner, but that’s neither here nor there-right? Necessity breeds creativity, or in my case: glass cleaner.

Making your own household cleaning products is cost-effective, decreases your exposure to harmful chemicals, reduces plastic waste, and lessens your carbon footprint. What’s not to love?

I encourage you to try making your own glass cleaner- (whether it be with this recipe or another) and continue to build on your sustainability practices. If you find that you like it, consider making several small batches to gift to family and friends along with a recipe card- You may just inspire someone else to lead a more sustainable life!
